Crossing Canada for Kids

Dates: May 20th - Aug 9th, 2009

On August 9th, Vancouver’s Tim Bowen-Roberts and Chris Dempster made their final stop on their Crossing Canada for Kids journey as they returned home to Ronald McDonald House BC. Together they spent 81 days, while covering 6,680km of Canadian soil, raising both money and awareness for Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada. On their journey, Tim and Chris stopped at all 12 other Houses, visiting local children and continuing to generate support for their fundraising efforts.

Tim and Chris were welcomed home with a BBQ held at Ronald McDonald House BC. Many children staying in the House as well as guests and supporters met the riders a short distance away to ride the last few blocks to the finish line with them. Their arrival was followed by a backyard BBQ catered by Memphis Blues Barbeque House with entertainment provided by Vancouver-based recording artist and two time BCCMA award nominee, Jordan Doell.

Thank you to all who supported Crossing Canada for Kids and Ronald McDonald House BC by visiting www.rmhbc.ca and making a donation. Tim and Chris are part of a dedicated team of 60 volunteers at the Vancouver House and we thank them all as a result of their efforts over $50,000.00 has been raised to support families and children staying at Ronald McDonald House BC.
